2. Use a dolly to carry your old unit out and move your new one in because water heaters can be heavy to lift.


3. Connect the pipes and controls back to the old location but make sure there is 6 inches surrounding the area of the heater free from flammable items.


4. While fixing the new lines together, connect the blue fitting with the cold line and the red fitting with the hot line.


5. Install the shut off valve.


6. Turn on the relief valve to power up the heat and control the air pressure.


7. Connect to power supply.


8. Open the shutoff valve to fill water in the heater.


9. Open the hot water faucets to clear the pipes of any existing air.
